Multidisciplinary and confused

Started off drawing posters for punk gigs, went to art school, then got into making music - Giulia's work spans from illustration, performance art, music and even floristry.

After being a problem child at Goldsmiths University due to an unhealthy obsession with Marina Abramovic, she found solace in performing her drag/performance art act Julia Star at gay clubs all over London and even internationally in Germany and Sydney.

Later the act shifted more towards a music project and she released a track called "See ya!" under label Insecure, which earned her a feature on Dazed Magazine and a slot at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton. At this point her music was heavily influenced by alternative rap, experimental electronic music and spoken word.

In 2021 she announced on her radio show 'Bring Me To Life' on RTM Radio, that she was entering a new creative phase and changing her artist name to evilbaby. Even though she was a metalhead growing up, this project was influenced by the revival of emo music which promoted openness about one's feelings and challenged gender stereotypes.

In 2022 she met guitarist Nick White and founded the band Sea Goblin, which took her back to her roots as a heavy metal kid and allowed her to learn and perform harsh vocals.

Giulia is now looking to meet likeminded musicians to form a metal band which incorporates elements from her visual arts background.
